Lacchiwalla
Lacchiwalla is a popular picnic destination near Dehradun. Located in the forest area of Rajaji, Lacchiwalla is famous for its greenery, picturesque cottages and hotels. The beauty of the place is heightened by the brook, flowing through the forest area.
The brook serves as a natural water park where people can get engaged in all sorts of water activities such as swimming, boating, etc. However, one must remember to carry one’s swimming equipment as the authorities do not provide anything as such. The place is especially popular among families to hang out on weekends. It also has a garden with several monkeys menacingly hanging around and about the trees
How can we reach there :
Lacchiwalla is on the Haridwar Rishikesh road, 21 km from Dehradun. One can take a local bus from the Dehradun station to get to the place.
Best time to visit :
This place is best when visited during Summers. Anyone can visit here from 8AM to 5PM during summers and 9AM to 5PM during winters. There is also entry fee for visitors which goes like; 20 rupees per adult and 10 rupees per child below age of 12.
