Sariyatal is also famous for the Himalayan Botanical Garden, a premier centre for the scientists and botanists that is open for the visitors. Run by the Uttrakhand Forest Department, the Himalayan Botanical Garden situated on the lake side features a butterfly park, library, herbarium, fermery and an auditorium. By paying a minimal fee of Rs. 20, you can see the Orchidarium, Herbarium, Thunia Alba Orchid, Geodesic Dome, Waterfalls along with several rare and endagered native plant species thriving at the Botanical Garden.
How to Reach Sariyatal:
Sariyatal is located at a favourable distance of 2km from khurpatal, on the way to Kaladhuni. The travellers can take the Delhi to Nianital bus from ISBT Anand Vihar. Sariyatal is only 8kms away from the Nainital Bus Stand, from where you can hire a taxi to reach the lakeside. Kathodgam railway station at 33km is the nearest railhead. Pantnagar airport at 67km away is the closest airport to the lake. Taxis to Sariyatal is easily available from this airport.
